Air Conditioning Check
In the Namibian heat a working air-conditioning system is not a luxury. The Air Conditioning Check confirms the system is cooling to the temperature it should, inspects the compressor, condenser and dryer, checks for leaks, and recharges the refrigerant and lubricant to the correct level.

Filters keep dust and pollen out of the cabin and keep the air, oil and fuel reaching the engine clean — which protects performance and engine life. The heat pump, on models that have one, warms the cabin efficiently.
FAQ on Air Conditioning and Filters
Why has my air conditioning stopped cooling well?
The usual causes are low refrigerant, a damaged condenser, a failing compressor or a leaking hose. Have the system checked rather than simply topped up — a leak will only come back.
Can I check the air-conditioning system myself?
No. It is a sealed, pressurised system containing refrigerant and needs workshop equipment to test, evacuate and recharge safely.
Can air conditioning be retrofitted to a car that does not have it?
Sometimes, but it is a substantial job involving the compressor, condenser, plumbing and controls, and must be carried out in a workshop.
Why does the pollen / combination filter need replacing?
Once it is clogged it can no longer clean the cabin air, and damp dirt trapped in it can grow mould and bacteria, which is what causes a musty smell from the vents.
Why change the engine air filter?
A blocked air filter starves the engine of air, which reduces power and increases fuel consumption. On dusty routes it needs checking more often.
Why change the oil filter?
A blocked oil filter can raise fuel use, cut performance and ultimately damage the engine, so it is replaced with the oil at every oil service.
Why change the diesel fuel filter?
It works like a sieve, trapping water and dirt, and gradually clogs. Replacing it at the service interval protects the injection system.
How often should filters be replaced?
It varies by filter and by conditions. The Service Interval Display or your dealer will tell you when each is due; dusty gravel travel shortens the life of the interior and engine air filters in particular.
How does a heat pump work?
It compresses refrigerant to concentrate heat, then releases that heat into the air flowing into the cabin. Because it moves existing heat rather than generating it electrically, it is much more efficient than a conventional heater.
