The HD matrix headlight not only ensures better visibility at night but also supports you while driving. Over 19,000 individually controllable LEDs are used for each headlight.

This means that your Volkswagen can project markings onto the road when the high beam is switched on. These make it easier for you to drive through narrow construction zones on the highway or to stay in your lane. The HD matrix headlight also improves the function of Dynamic Light Assist. This means that other road users and traffic signs can be blocked out even more precisely from your own high beam. When you start or park your vehicle, the HD matrix headlight provides a special light animation for you.

As soon as you sit inside the Touareg, it’s plain to see: the stylish interior design says it all. An elegant double seam runs from the dashboard across to the door sill. The Elegance and R-line are available with aluminium decorative trims and 30 color ambient lighting coupled with embossed Touareg name on the dash. The high-quality, harmoniously coordinated materials ensure a feel-good atmosphere straight away.

The Touareg is an SUV that meets high expectations – and proves this too with a striking and sophisticated design. The wonderfully expressive front section with prominent air intakes and the powerful rear accentuate the sporty presence of the Touareg. Its balanced proportions emphasise its elegance – as well as its size, which makes it a comfortable companion on the road.

The HD matrix headlights give you a taste of what they can do as soon as you switch them on – with an unmistakable projection of light. The light signature on the Touareg is complemented by a light strip above the radiator grille and area lighting and has light projection onto the ground when doors open. There is also a light strip on the rear, while the brand logo in the centre is illuminated in red.

The Touareg has x-rayed decorations on board as standard. The elegance equipment line is available with ambient lighting. The lower and upper area of the interior can thus be illuminated in different colours independently of each other. If two different colours are selected, the main colour is adopted additionally for the displays. You can therefore create completely different lighting scenarios depending on your mood.

The new Touareg is transformed into a mobile concert hall with the optionally available DYNAUDIO Consequence sound system:

Being able to check important information while also keeping an eye on the road: this is a major advantage of the optional head-up display. Part of the windscreen becomes a projection surface that can display your speed, messages from your driver assist systems or navigation instructions. The projection itself is still clearly legible, even when light is shining directly onto the windscreen. And you can switch off the display at any time if you no longer need it.

With the all-wheel steering, the rear wheels are turned to an angle opposite to the front wheels up to 37 km/h. The turning circle is reduced by more than one metre as a result. At a higher speed, the rear wheels are turned in the same direction as the front wheels. The Touareg is therefore more agile and more stable when changing lanes.

The Touareg lets you decide what type of driving experience you want. Depending on the driving mode, the optional air suspension* lifts the vehicle to a ground clearance of 258 mm. The rear of the vehicle can also be lowered by 40 mm for convenient loading or unloading.

The new Touareg can tow up to 3500 kg, so for example a boat or horse trailer. The towing bracket is concealed under the rear and automatically folds out and locks in place at the touch of a button when needed. And because manoeuvring with a trailer is not that easy, the standard Trailer Assist can help you when using the towing bracket.

No sunshine? No problem. The 4MOTION all-wheel drive ensures that the engine power is distributed between all four wheels according to requirements even on a rainy, icy or bumpy surface. It thus prevents spinning and gives your Touareg increased traction on practically any surface. In other words, comfort first. This includes the 4MOTION Active Control electronic driving profile selection, which allows you to get even more from your permanent all-wheel drive.
