About the Takata Recall
Takata airbag inflators used an ammonium-nitrate propellant that can degrade over time and rupture when the airbag deploys. This affects a range of vehicle brands worldwide, including certain Volkswagen models produced roughly between 2004 and 2018 — the exact affected range depends on the specific model and market.

What Is a VIN and Where Do I Find It?
